There's someone I"d like you to meet....

Who me???

2012-10-14 09.26.23

Mr. Samuel Baucom is quite possibly, the cutest, happiest, silliest boy I've ever known.

He is the coolest kid you'll ever meet.  Move over, Ray Charles.

He loves his sister........

... with a ferocity rivaled only by his love for his mama.

He wants to do everything his daddy does. Which couldn't make me happier, because my husband is the best role model he could ever have.

He could watch Mickey Mouse Clubhouse from dawn until dark.

His appetite rivals his father's.  We're in big trouble when he's a teenager....might have to take out a second mortgage just to feed him.

Yes, that's his breakfast....and he at ALMOST the entire plate, as well as some of my waffle.

And, he'll do ANYTHING for a laugh...

I am SO lucky I was chosen to be his mom....I cannot wait to see what the future holds for us.

Two Years

Dear Nana,

It hardly seems right that it's been two years since we last saw you. Foolishly I thought this would get easier; that I wouldn't miss you as much. I mean, it's been two years. I shouldn't still cry every time I am struck with a memory of you, yet I do. Maybe it's because we had such an amazing relationship, or that I have so many amazing memories of the times we spent together. I just know that not a day goes by that I don't think of you and desperately wish I could pick up the phone and talk to you.

I want to say thank you. Mr. Samuel was one awesome gift you sent us. There's no doubt in my mind that you had everything to do with him being sent to us. He's a precious happy little man; you would adore him. I know you drop by to visit now and then. Samuel is always sure to let me know when you do. Now that he's talking more, he stares off, waves and says, "Nana" over and over. I always make sure to tell him to tell you I love you.

Miss Abigail still talks about you all the time. Randomly she'll tell me how much she misses you and the best thing I can say is, "Me too, baby." She tells Samuel about you a lot. I'm sure he feels like he knows everything about you. Someday she'll understand just how lucky she is to have spent as much time with you as she did.

We were all so lucky we got to have you in our lives. It hardly seems fair to Samuel and your future great-grandbabies that we got to meet you, and they don't. Their lives just won't be the same.

For now, I'll just tell you I love you and miss you more than I could ever imagine possible. Come visit me in my dreams sometime.

I love you,
Jennie

Siblings....

There are people in our lives that we choose to put there, and people who are put there by blood. I am fortunate enough to have two siblings whom I consider two of my best friends (most of the time...haha). 225621_7321202217_1183_n

My sister was there for me on the day both of my children were there. She played roommate & nurse maid while I recovered from both c-sections and Matthew had to work. I couldn't have gotten through those days without her. She adores my children, and I her's. Those two little girls light up my world. While we might not always see eye to eye on EVERYTHING (let's be honest, what two people do??) I know that I could call her any minute of any day and she'd be by my side. Not a lot of people are lucky enough to have someone like this in their lives.

Then there's this guy...

I simply cannot say enough about him. He is one of my very favorite men in the world. I am so very lucky I get to call him my brother. There isn't a single time in my life I can remember him NOT being there when I needed him. I know that I can tell him ANYTHING and he will listen and respond with sound advice and reassuring words to help me through whatever I'm going through. I am so excited that he is marrying the woman of his dreams in a couple months and I cannot WAIT to have another sister. Cristina is one RIDICULOUSLY lucky lady to have bagged my big brother.

I am so blessed to have these two people in my life. We have been there for each other through thick and thin and I hope they know just how happy I am that I was chosen to be their baby sister.

Lots to share....

A lot has happened to the Baucom Bunch this year.....

Catch-Up

I'm going to catch up on the happenings of the Baucom Bunch on the next few posts..... We'll start waaaayyyy back in June. We celebrated Princess Abigail's 5th birthday, her last as an only child. It's amazing to me how much she's changed.
She had her usual birthday dinner at Red Robin and was so excited when she opened her Barbie Laptop from Mom and dad.
We are so lucky to have her. She is one amazing child!!!

My Girl

There was never a time in my life when I DIDN'T want to be a mom. I've always dreamed of having a sweet little family to come home to every night; a snuggly little girl to watch silly television shows; a chubby faced boy to watch play soccer. While my boy isn't here yet (SIX MORE WEEKS EEK!!), I have to say, my silly childhood dreams...they didn't even come CLOSE to what I have with Miss Abigail. I struck baby GOLD with that girl. I just know that when she gets older we're going to be the best of friends. I am the luckiest mom in the world.

Scared....

I'm scared that I won't have enough love to give both of my children...

I'm scared that Abigail will feel left out when the baby gets here...

I'm scared that Baby Boy Baucom will feel he he drew the short straw cause he got here second...

I'm scared that I won't be prepared for his arrival...

I'm scared that I won't be able to handle having two children...

I'm scared that there's not enough of me to fill both of their needs...

I'm scared that Matthew and I will have trouble finding time for us...

I'm scared that the only thing we will have time to talk about once the baby gets here is our children...

I'm scared that something will happen to one of the children that I worked so hard to get here safe and healthy...

I'm scared that something will happen to Matthew, leaving me alone...

Mainly, I'm scared of everything right now.

This goes away, right??

Dear Edamame

Hi there sweet baby!

I am so very excited about your impending arrival, even if I still have to wait another 25 weeks to meet you. Daddy, Abigail and I will patiently wait for you. Stay in there as long as needed for you to get here. Please don't come early like your big sister did.

When Daddy and I found out you were coming we were surprised, but happier than you can even imagine. We know you're the puzzle piece that has been missing from our sweet family without us even knowing it. We absolutely adore you already and haven't even gotten to see your sweet face yet.

You big sister is already the best big sister there's ever been. She is so excited about all the things she's going to get to teach you. You probably already know this, but she talks to you every night. She is actually the one that named you Edamame. She is so silly.

We have had some great times, you and I. I'm thankful the "pukies" have left us behind. Thanks for that. It makes mommy very happy to have an appetite again.

Thank you baby, for choosing me and Daddy. We already feel so lucky to be your parents.

I love you more than you know,
Mommy

Vacation...Part 2...Disney World

(See Vacation...Part 1 here)

On Monday morning we woke up and had breakfast with Nana. After that, we hopped in the car and headed to the happiest place on Earth...Disney World!!!! It took about an hour to get from Nana Jane's to our hotel. We checked in and got settled in our room and then headed off to the Magic Kingdom.

The first ride we came to was the Teacups. That is one of my favorites of all time!! It was a little busier that Matthew and I had anticipated, so we had to wait in line. Miss Abigail was none too excited about this, as evidenced in this picture:

Once it was our turn, Abigail turned in to a happy camper again!!!!

We had the best time with her in Disney World. I don't think words can describe the fun enough, so I'll just end this with pictures of our trip! :)

She got her face painted:

Drove a car with her daddy:

Rode Dumbo with me:

Stood in lots of lines:

Rode a carousel with daddy:

She loved on her Daddy and hammed for the Camera:

She met Mommy's favorite Disney characters:

Posed for family pictures:

She met princesses:

She hammed for the camera a bit more:

Met Donald Duck (and many other characters):

And went to Epcot:

We had the best time with her and cannot WAIT to do it again!!!
